Join us for a festive quilted Christmas stocking workshop, where you’ll learn to create a beautiful, personalized stocking to add a handmade touch to your holiday decor!
The beauty of a scrappy stocking lies in its patchwork design—a delightful mix of different fabrics, lovingly stitched together to create a unique, one-of-a-kind piece. Think of bright, colorful holiday prints alongside simple plaids, soft florals, and even unexpected pops of patterns.
No two sections are alike, making each stocking feel personal and full of character. The randomness of the fabric gives the stocking a charming, homespun feel, perfect for adding to your family’s holiday traditions. Personalization transforms the stocking into a cherished keepsake, a treasure that can be hung with pride year after year.

Perfect for hanging by the fire, it’s a joyful reminder of the beauty found in creating something by hand, one patch at a time.
You Will Learn:
By making a scrappy quilted stocking, you’ll gain a wide range of basic sewing and quilting skills, from fabric selection and cutting to sewing techniques and personalization. We will add an appliqué initial to your stocking.
At the end of the workshop you will have a personalised, bespoke Christmas stocking and a pattern to make more!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- Full instructions for your stocking
- ALL fabric and supplies required to make the project
- use of the studio sewing machine (or bring your own, see right), & all sewing equipment
- Tea, Coffee and other refreshments, plus lots of biscuits to keep you going
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
- Just yourself & some Christmas cheer!
- You may wish to bring your own sewing machine. If so, please get in touch to let me know the make and model & I can let you know if it is suitable for this class. Your machine must be in good working order as I am not able to service or fix it. If there are consistent issues that keep the rest of the class back then I will politely ask you to continue the class with one of the class machines instead.
SKILL LEVEL:
Level 1 – you need to know how to use a sewing machine to attend this workshop
This is perfect as a first quilt project and only requires a basic working knowledge of a sewing machine i.e., how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin.
This class is suitable for ages 14 and up! If you are booking for a teen who is perhaps a bit nervous to come on their own, they are welcome to bring a chaperone (please do let me know in advance so I can keep an eye on numbers). Or even better, why not book a spot for you to learn along with them!
