Description

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • how to sew a perfect lapped zip, a common zip insertion for skirts, trousers and dresses
  • how to sew a centred zip – again a classic zip for dresses
  • how to sew an invisible zip…and ensure it actually IS invisible!

Although this class is tailored to dressmaking, all of these skills can be used in home decor such as cushion covers!

SKILL LEVEL:

Level 3
You should be confident in using a sewing machine, have made a few projects (not necessarily dressmaking, but that would be beneficial) and looking to advance your skills

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • All fabric and notions needed to practice all zips
  • Use of the class sewing machine (or bring your own, see below) including using the regular and invisible zip feet
  • Small class sizes for personalised attention and support
  • A supportive and creative learning environment to foster your passion for dressmaking
  • Tea, Coffee and other refreshments, plus lots of biscuits to keep you going

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

  • A notepad and pen to jot down any useful tips you might pick up!

Sewing Machine:
– It would be beneficial, but not required, for you to bring your own sewing machine to learn on as your machine may have slightly different setting to the studio machines. If you do bring your machine please remember to bring a regular zip foot and invisible zip foot.

Held in the lovely, bright and spacious Threadquarters studio! 49 Main Street, Bangor, NI. Located on the first floor.

PLEASE NOTE: The class requires a minimum of two people to go ahead.

Our Cancellation Policy: Unfortunately our classes are non refundable. Due to our small class sizes it is also very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.
In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
