Description
YOU WILL LEARN:
- how to sew either a 1-step or 4-step buttonhole depending on your machine
- tips to ensure buttonhole success more frequently (!)
- how to sew an in-seam pocket and how to add this to any garment with a side seam
- how to sew a patch pocket which can be added to fronts of skirts, dresses, trousers, shirts blouses and even bags
SKILL LEVEL:
Level 3
You should be confident in using a sewing machine, have made a few projects. Basic understanding of dressmaking would be beneficial.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- All fabric and notions needed to practice buttonholes and pockets
- Use of the class sewing machine (or bring your own, see below) including buttonhole foot for 1-step or 4-step
- Pocket pattern pieces to use and take home (so you can add pockets to everything!)
- Small class sizes for personalised attention and support
- A supportive and creative learning environment to foster your passion for dressmaking
- Tea, Coffee and other refreshments, plus lots of biscuits to keep you going
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
- A notepad and pen to jot down any useful tips you might pick up!
Sewing Machine:
– It would be beneficial, but not required, for you to bring your own sewing machine to learn on as your machine may have slightly different settings to the studio machines. If you do bring your machine please remember to bring your buttonhole foot.

Held in the lovely, bright and spacious Threadquarters studio! 49 Main Street, Bangor, NI. Located on the first floor.
