YOUR PROJECT:
HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT BAG!
In our workshop you will get to design and create a spook-tacular trick or treat bag ready for Halloween.
The bags are fully lined with a long shoulder strap. Children will be guided in using the sewing machine and after a little practice in sewing straight lines (tricker than you may think!) they will be able to sew together their bags. The fun part is seeing how the lining and outside go together with no raw edges showing!
The outside of the bags are decorated with fabric that is attached with bondaweb (not sewn). The children will be given a selection of designs which they can trace and cut out & the teacher will adhere them to the bags.
You Will Learn:
- the basics of how to use a sewing machine
- how to sew straight (ish!) seams and lock in stitching
- how to make a fully lined bag
- how to use bondaweb for fabric appliqué
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- All materials needed to make your trick or treat bags
- Use of the excellent class sewing machines and all sewing tools required
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
- Nothing!
Due to time restrictions it is not possible to bring your own sewing machine to this class.
SKILL LEVEL:
Level 0 – Children do not need to have any previous sewing experience.
This class is strictly suitable for children ages 7 plus only.
All ironing will be done by the teacher but children will be required to use scissors, pins and the sewing machines independently (with guidance from the teacher of course!).
